Packaging

Packaging operators work with a variety of different equipment ranging from automated belts and scale systems to robotics for stacking finished goods.  

1. Follow good manufacturing practices to ensure the quality of the product.
2. Adhere to occupational health and safety guidelines.  
3. Understanding and following standard operating procedures (SOP).
4. Operating packaging equipment.
5. Conduct metal detector checks every two hours. 
6. Erecting boxes and inserting liners. 
7. Inputting filled boxes through tape machine & verifying every box is clean and properly coded/labeled.
8. Verify scales are operating properly, identifying product weight.

1. Palletizing boxes. 
2. Stacking boxes in the proper pattern and choosing the correct type of pallet based on customer requirements. 

1. Maintaining product flow.
2. Packaging the product at a pace allows for continuous production. 
3. Using radios to communicate any packaging needs from each department.
4. Identifying when the production volume will not meet or exceed daily production goals and alert the necessary staff to correct.

1. Adhering to Barchemy’s paperwork policy.
2. Conduction pre and post operation checklist.
3. Recording all boxes of finished goods.
4. Documenting quality checks done throughout each shift.

1. Minimizing waste by limiting the amount of product falling to the floor. 
2. Placing any rework in the designated rework storge area. 
3. Maintaining a clean food safe environment. 

While this job description outlines the main responsibilities of the packaging position. All Barchemy employees are expected to remain flexible.
